Our new family addition

  • Meet Valentino - our newest family member! We bought him on the evening of Valentine's day, and he is Nicholas' 6th birthday present (a little early.) Our house is never going to be the same! But the boys absolutely adore him, and Ed likes him too (although I know he would have chosen a different breed.) Valentino is a pom-chi and will grow to be a small-medium sized dog. The cats are not caring for him too much, but generally just keep their distance. I've called my mom for lots of puppy training tips, as I had a dog growing up, but of course Mom and Dad did all the work, so I have pretty much no experience. Ed was working in Calgary for 2 weeks, and didn't get a voice in which dog we picked, but we're happy with our little furry boy ball of fluff. I'm very grateful that we are getting into a routine, and that I am able to scrapbook a little bit. This is my first ever puppy layout, and I love it! There will be many, many more to come! I'm already planning a little book about his puppy-hood.

Sing song of our home these days:

"Bwownie fo' me

Bwownie fo' my mum

But not Val -a- tee- no

'cause it all come out his bum"

Sorry - - had to share - - this is what Benjamin has been singing for a week LOL!! We're trying to teach the kids no people food for the dog, especially chocolate, as it will make him very sick. so now, Benjamin sings this all the time, with the cutest little sing-song voice, and it makes us crack up laughing every time!

Little threesome

Well, we've been home on our own, without our Papa Bear since last week. 6 days. And do we miss him. I haven't been in the scrappiest frame of mind, so the only crafty things I've done are my must do's - the swaps that I had signed up for that were coming due. But tomorrow, Benjamin and I are staying home all day and I'll be {hopefully!} in the zone! Nothing else going on, so a page or two should be able to happen. Hubby is still working away in Canada. He's cold, and doing the same as we are, shopping away the missing us feeling. We have some wonderful Olympic Roots Team Canada clothes coming that I can't wait to see. Of course, some Kraft Peanut Butter too! (and some smarties - have to show Bridgette what Canadian smarties are; the US Smarties are something entirely different.) I'm thinking a lovely tea or hot chocolate will do just fine about now, along with a new episode of Lost! Something scrappy this way comes, very soon, promise!
